I was so excited when I found out that I could get involved with World Book Day! I couldn’t wait to go out and buy an outfit. I decided to go as my favourite character – Matilda. I planned my English lesson around World Book Day where we focused on picture books. This allowed children to understand that stories can be presented in many different ways. As part of World Book Day, the school ran a scheme where children were to bring in a book to donate to Goa. This was lovely idea and hundreds of books were donated (as you can see in the picture). It also encouraged the children to get involved with the wider life and community. We held a celebration assembly where the children and teachers could show off their outfits and there was a prize for the best one. It was fantastic to see how much effort had gone into the costumes!!
